Titanic: Honor and Glory – Demo 3 – Turkish Bath Cooling Room
The Turkish Bath was the lowest First Class area on Titanic, but by no means the least luxurious. With its cooling and temperate rooms decorated with Arabian elements, this was a place for First Class passengers to put themselves through the rigorous routine of a Turkish Bath, which was basically just sitting through intense heat, and included a steam room and an electric bath, a sort of scary looking contraption, like a tanning bed, that you would lay in and be surrounded by bright lamps. The most elegant part of the baths, the cooling room, is still very well preserved in the wreck today. Adjacent to the bath facility was the First Class Pool, one of the first on ships at the time.
